A hero's journey back home is always bitter sweet. Our hero can have a tragic mishap that can make he or she feel like they have to return home. Having this happen can make our hero feel like all their “magic” or “luck” has run out, but that's just the opposite. This is the time that our hero is tested and have to dig deep within him or herself to find all the strength and courage needed.

TangledIn Tangled after Rapunzel sees the lanterns with Flynn, he gets accused of only wanting the crown that he stole because the Stabbington brother knock him out and tied him to a boat and set him afloat. Rapunzel thinks she sees Flynn but as they get closer, she realizes it’s not Flynn. The Stabbington brothers appear out of dense fog to kidnap Rapunzel but Mother Gothel “saves” her. Mother Gothel takes Rapunzel back home and Rapunzel finds out that Mother Gothel isn’t her real mother and that she is actually the lost princess.

ShrekIn the first Shrek movie, Shrek, Donkey and Fiona all travel back to the castle so Shrek can deliver Fiona back to Lord Farquaad. At this point Shrek doesn’t know Fiona turns into an ogre at night. Fiona makes them stop and she goes into a barn to get some “sleep”. Donkey goes into the barn to see if Fiona needs anything and she falls from the ceiling. Donkey sees she's an ogre and isn’t sure what to think. Fiona tells him it's a curse and not to tell Shrek. Once Fiona gets to the castle to meet Lord Farquaad, she insists they get married that day because she doesn't want him to see her in her ogre form.
