A hero begin the approach as he or she learns to adjust to what's happening and has to rely on all of their knowledge to get to the heart of the situation. The hero will have to face many roadblocks and setbacks, but he or she will eventually get through and become stronger. The hero will begin to understand the people standing in his or her way and use that to his or her advantage. This is also where the reader sees the different sides to the hero that they haven't seen before.

Frozen
An example of the approach is when Anna goes the Elsa’s ice castle to face her and ask her to come back to save the kingdom of Arendelle from the ice. Elsa doesn’t like that Anna has come to the castle and tries to force her to leave. This is when she accidentally freezes her heart.

Another example of the approach is when Anna goes back to Arendelle with the knowledge that she must have a true love’s kiss in order to save her heart from freezing. She thinks that Hans is her true love, but she finds out that he was only using her to get to her kingdom.
